Around the World

Last January, my mentee, Lauren asked me to make her a purple quilt.  She had graduated to a queen size bed and had outgrown the pink one I previously made her.  I loved this Kate Spain line and since it was purple, it worked.  I used Around the Block, a pattern by Sue Pfau.  The only problem is that the finished size (which I thought I made a lot larger) is 66 X 66!  What to do.  I haven't added the border yet, so that may have to be a bit bigger, but not sure I am going to reach the true queen size for this one.  although I like it, I don't love it-too much orange, I think.  But you never know until it is bound and quilted!
